What is the AERR framework?
AERR stands for Acknowledge, Embrace, Release, and Replace. It is the foundational cognitive framework invented by Joshua Merritt to guide individuals through confronting their emotions and releasing them safely onto a canvas.
Do I need to be a skilled artist to participate?
Absolutely not. Expressive art is not about creating a masterpiece for a museum; it is about the physical act of emotional release. No prior artistic talent or experience is required.
Is Joshua a licensed therapist?
No. Joshua is an ordained ministerial practitioner and artist. He serves as a spiritual guide and creative facilitator. Paint Yourself Happy is not a substitute for clinical psychological or medical treatment.
What are Ash Memorials?
Ash Memorials are bespoke, sacred pieces of artwork where cremains (ashes of a loved one) are physically and respectfully integrated into the paint. This creates a lasting, tangible tribute crafted with deep intention and reverence.
